Protect our River Mole
Esher and Walton's River Mole is one of just 200 chalk streams in the world, yet it's also one of England's most polluted rivers. In 2023 alone, Thames Water dumped sewage into it 350 times, with a quarter of these discharges coming from the Esher storm outflow. We need to stop this pollution and protect our precious river.
Our chalk streams are irreplaceable. That's why I'm campaigning with Liberal Democrat colleagues to have Britain's precious chalk streams protected and recognised as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Securing UNESCO recognition would send a powerful message and help protect the River Mole for future generations. Sign my petition below to demand an end to sewage dumping in the River Mole and join the campaign to protect our river for generations to come.
